So, you got Transferred or shifted to another State for a new Job ? Thinking of transferring your beloved bike/scooter ? Just be ready for Bruises :) .
It will start with never ending trips to RTO !. First, if you are relocating for a very short period of time (Less than 12 months), No need for a NOC, but in case you are shifting for more than 12 months, NOC would be required. Although rules are not that tough / stringent for 2 Wheelers. I've had a KA registration bike in Delhi for 5 Years and no one ever stopped me coz of that. Even my Car was KA since 2005 in Noida, but recently got it changed to UP.
It;s safer to send the Bike/Scooter by Transporter than Train. As there is no miss handling and no damages can be expected. But if you are sending by Train, then be ready to see some nasty scratches / Bruises on the Bike/Scooter.
1. First you need to check which trains leave from your station to the destination. From siliguri, there are not many trains for Gujrat, namely Okha Express and Gandhidhan exp.
2. Booking office is on Platform no.1 You can either book it directly to Vadodara or to Delhi and then from Delhi to Vadodara.
(I had booked from Vadodara to Delhi and then Delhi to Siliguri by Transporter)
3. Get it packed by the Porters there, they will charge about 300-400/-, its better to bring along some packing material, for your own safety, Make sure you make them place extra Straws & Carboards on the visor area and on the Side panels., Better to get some Old bed sheets from Home, that will serve better.
4. Please bear in mind that, it takes about 3/4 months for Bike/Scooter to reach Baroda/Vadodara. So who i did it ??. . .There was a Person there, who was introduced by a official, He assured that in 1000/- Bucks he will make sure that the vehicle gets loaded in next train. Though I was little worried, as I was leaving Siliguri at the same day, so Eventually i gave him money(Friday) and trusted him to do his job. and I received the Call on Monday evening that the Vehicle has been loaded and will reach baroda in next 72 Hrs !!!.

5. It charged me - 2000 - Freight, + 300 Packing, + 50 (person who put steel plate on bike with some Numbers) + 1000 to that Loader.
6. Keep in Mind that, they charge 250 Per day at the Receiving station.
